Daily Fantasy Basketball Playbook – 4/3

cousins

It feels good to be back in the swing of things after my little vacation. Yes, this too included taking last weekend off form playing daily fantasy basketball. But I have to admit, it was nice for a change not to have to worry about flipping channels on my living room TVs or finding streams on my computer. So let’s make this a good Friday and win some cash tonight (no more good puns, I promise). As always, my prices are according to DraftKings.

Point Guard

Elfried Payton ($7,500) – Maybe it’s because I watched Payton when he was in college all the time, but he has quietly been making big strides over the last half of this season. He’s put up over 30 fantasy points in nine straight games. Tonight he gets Minnesota, who may barely have enough players to start the game. Their defense isn’t anything to worry about, and Payton’s high level of play should carry over to tonight.

Jordan Clarkson ($6,400) – Clarkson is my (not so) sneaky play of the night. He’s been hit or miss, but Portland’s defense has never been one of their strengths. I’m sure this will be a blowout, but even with that Clarkson should still get his minutes. I like him a lot in GPP’s but can get on board with using him to save some cash.

Shooting Guard

Bradley Beal ($6,000) – Tonight’s pool of players at the position is pretty terrible in my opinion. One of the few names that stuck out to me was Beal. He is a guy that just needs to get his shot falling in order to have a big night in DFS. You can be assured that anytime you play the Knicks, the hoops seems like it’s five feet wide.

Jimmy Butler ($8,000) – I’m putting Butler on here because he is in consideration almost every night. Not to mention the fact that I simply won’t be using anyone outside of Beal or Butler tonight.

Small Forward

Cleanthony Early ($3,500) – Early is my guy tonight for two reasons: 1) he is dirt cheap 2) he’s one of the only Knicks I can count on tonight to put up some points. With his price tag so cheap, it won’t take much for him to hit value, which is around 16 fantasy points. This also allows be to spend the extra cash elsewhere.

Chase Budinger ($5,200) – You can this to the list of names I never expected to recommend. Honestly, I had to double check that I wasn’t losing my mind. But in all seriousness, Budinger has been on a tear lately. With so many Timberwolves banged up, their scoring is almost nonexistent. Budinger is on the court to make up for that lack of offense.

Power Forward

Zach Randolph ($6,900) – Z-Bo said earlier today that he is going to play tonight. The Thunder don’t have anyone that can get up with him in the post. Z-Bo will be able to use his wide frame to push around Enes Kanter and Co tonight. Not to mention that his price tag isn’t super expensive, so I’m feeling good rolling with him tonight.

Anthony Tolliver ($4,300) – This is antoerh super-sneaky play ofr me tonight. Tolliver has been preforming very well in the absence of Greg Monroe. His last two games he’s had over 28 fantasy points, and hit over 20 in three of his last four. Tolliver is a great GPP play for me tonight.

Center

DeMarcus Cousins ($10,000) – Cousins is my play of the night tonight. He’s been averaging over 70 fantasy points over the past week and has hit over that mark in three of this last four games. Tonight he gets a Pelicans team that he has had very good success against this season. He’s been one of the hottest players over the past week that isn’t getting any love. Tonight, that will change.
