Daily Fantasy Basketball Playbook – 3/16

Rudy Gobert

Mondays are the worst. One of the only good things about my Mondays is daily fantasy basketball. I wish we had a full card of games, but eight is plenty enough to win some cash in tonight’s contests. As always, the prices are according to DraftKings.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook ($12,600) – Does it really matter how much he costs? He’s the hottest player in DFS. I’m expecting over 80% ownership, but is ceiling is too high to pass up.

Jeff Teague ($6,700) – I know that Teague has been in a slump lately, but the Kings are terrible against Point Guards. His price is low enough that you can still have the big names, but not high enough to where anything below 35 points kills you. Teague torched the Kings last matchup, and I’m thinking he does that again tonight.

Shooting Guard

Dwayne Wade ($7,500) – I’m really high on DWade tonight. He gets to face LeBron and company (if LeBron plays), which is basically a revenge game for him. Last time the faced off, I wrote that they would go shot-for-shot, and that’s basically what happened. Not to mention that Wade has been averaging almost 43 points a game.

Avery Bradley ($5,400) – I know it’s not a sexy pick, but Bradley has been fairly consistent lately for the Celtics. He’s scored over 27 fantasy points in three of this last four games. He doesn’t need much to hit value, and I think he’s an under the radar GPP play tonight against the Sixers, who still don’t know how to use their backcourt rotation.

Small Forward

Gordon Hayward ($7,700) – It’s less that I like Hayward tonight and more that I like everyone else far less. The three spot on the court is barebones tonight so Hayward gets the nod from me.

Derrick Williams ($3,300) – He’s my sneaky play of the night. Rudy Gay missed last game with a strained patellar tendon. Be sure to monitor his status before tip off. If Gay is out, I’ll take a shot on Williams.

Power Forward

Paul Millsap ($7,500) – He sat out last night, but I think he should be good to go against the Kings this evening.

Draymond Green ($7,200) – There has been a lot of resting going on around the league, and the Warriors are no exception. The only guy who’s been full steam ahead has been Green. Tonight, he gets the Lakers…do I really need to say more?

Center

Rudy “GOAT” Gobert ($8,300) – I said it before and I’ll say it again, Gobert is a stud and only needed playing time to show that. Dude has been a monster on the glass, and had a double-double in the first quarter last week. I know Al Jefferson will give him some trouble down below, but Gobert is long enough where he should be able to still bang down low to grab board and score.

Kelly Olynyk ($3,800) – While Olynyk isn’t at 100% yet, he’s shown over the last two games that he’s ready to roll into our DFS lineups. The bottom line is that he’s getting starter minutes and plays the 76ers tonight. I’ll take a shot on him in any GPP this evening.
