Daily Fantasy Basketball Playbook – 1/26

Blake Griffin

Tonight was supposed to be a solid night for daily fantasy basketball. Unfortunately, the Knicks/Kings and TrailBlazers/Nets games have been postponed due to bad weather. Still, five games is nothing to scoff at. Vegas sill has he numbers relatively high, so there will be no shortage of offense. The FakeRoudball playbook has been hitting almost every night, so we hope you guys are paying attention. As always, my prices are according to DraftKings. Good luck! And those of you stuck in the bad weather, stay safe.

Point Guard

Mike Conley ($7,100) – How Conley has such a low price tag against a Magic team that can’t stop a nosebleed at the position is beyond me. I know the position has some depth tonight, but most other point guards don’t have the return value for their price like Conley does. I am starting him everywhere I can fit him in.

Michael Carter-Williams ($8,300) – They say to keep going back to the well that fills you, and that’s exactly what I do with MCW. He’s a triple-double threat on any given night. Not to mention Jrue Holiday is still out, so he has a juicy matchup without the Pels best backcourt defender.

Shooting Guard

Eric Gordon ($5,700) – I still want to vomit just typing his name on here, but EG has been consistently hitting around 25 fantasy points a night since his return from injury. He’s still undervalued and I like taking a shot on him in a GPP. Plus, it’s always a good idea to start someone against the Sixers. I like using Gordon tonight as a contrarian pick when most people will be using Tyreke Evans.

Dion Waiters ($4,900) – I looked like the prettiest girl at the bar with m Brandon Bass pick last week. I’m hoping that continues tonight for Dion Waiters. Granted, this isn’t as safe of a play, but it’s hard to think that the Thunder are going to fall flat against the worst team in the league. Waiters should get enough minutes for him to hit value and beyond this evening.

Small Forward

Andrew Wiggins ($6,700) – Wiggins has been on a tear lately. He’s been hitting value almost every night. The good news about Wiggins is that the Timberwolves are so bad that they will keep Wiggins on the floor whether they are winning by 10 or losing by 50. He’s who I feel most comfortable with at the position as well.

Wilson Chandler ($5,600) – He’s consistent on a night where consistency is far from certain. I like him if you’re looking to save some cash as well.

Power Forward

Blake Griffin ($9,800) – I really like Griffin and Anthony Davis tonight. The reason I am going Griffin is simply because of price. I think both guys are great plays, but saving that extra cash is always helpful in DFS. Nobody would be surprised if either one of these guys would hit 50+fantasy points.

Derrick Favors ($7,400) – Favors missed some time last week, but came back and looked close to form against a decent Milwaulkee frontcourt. Favors should have a solid fantasy night in Utah against the Celtics. He has the power to have his way

Robert Covington ($5,100) – I wish he had eligibility at the three spot, but I’ll take what I can get from Covington. He lit up the Pels last time they played and I see no reason why that shouldn’t continue. He’s a great, cheap play that I know a lot of people will be rostering, but I see that as no reason the fade Covington.

Center

Marc Gasol ($8,400) – The bad thing about tonight is that there isn’t much out there that I like at the center position. Gasol isn’t cheap but he will put up solid numbers that you can rely on.

DeAndre Jordan ($7,800) – Jordan is on my list tonight because he can drop 50 fantasy points on a given night. He has the highest ceiling of anyone at the position, and their simply isn’t a lot out there that I would feel comfortable rostering.
