Daily Fantasy Basketball Playbook – 1/14

Fun fact: I accidentally wrote my picks for the wrong day yesterday. Pretty excited about my nomination to the Fantasy Basketball Hall of Shame. All of my prices are according to FanDuel, so let’s get on with the picks:

Guards:

Ty Lawson – $8,900

The former Tar Heel has been one of the better PGs so far this season. He’s averaging nearly 17 points and 10 assists per game, to along with a steal and a few boards. Tonight he comes in well rested with a few days off and has a juicy match up against the Orlando Magic. Another PG to take a look at is Tony Parker. Yes he still has that hamstring issue but he’s now starting to see 30 minutes a game again. With no Kawhi Leonard or Marco Belinelli, Parker should have more of an involvement in the offense tonight.

Mario Chalmers – $4,500

With no Wade for a second straight game, Chalmers should capitalize going against a high scoring Warriors squad. After dropping 19 points and 8 assists last night, his numbers should be very similar to this again. For the price he’s at, for the value, a must start.

Forwards:

Jae Crowder – $4,600

I’m not overreacting to his game last night going, basically hitting the mark in nine categories, including 22 points. So far Crowder looks like a nice fit with the Celtics and playing time won’t be an issue with Jeff Green shipped out to Memphis. He goes against a tough Hawks team tonight but the opportunity is too good to pass up at this price.

Kenneth Faried – $6,600

His shooting hasn’t been great lately but he’s almost a guarantee for double digit rebounds along with a few blocks or steals. He has 10+ points and 10+ rebounds in 7 of his last 9 games, a safe play tonight going against Dallas.

Center:

Hassan Whiteside – $5,200

The popular choice tonight is Jusuf Nurkic. However, since I already have two Nuggets starting tonight I figured I would mix it up a bit. Whiteside’s downfall is foul trouble but when he’s on the floor, he puts up solid scoring numbers but very valuable when it comes to rebounds and blocks. He only played 21 minutes last night but still posted 15/9 with 5 blocks.

I picked one guy that’s above $7,000 on Fan Duel tonight. #BallersOnBudgets
