Daily Fantasy Basketball Playbook – 12/29

With the holiday season coming to a close, nothing would be better than to cap it off with some extra cash in daily fantasy basketball. With six games slated tonight, I like those chances. Here are my picks for this evening. All of my prices are according to DraftKings.
Point Guard
Darren Collison ($6,400) – Tonight is one of the few nights where I am not going to pay up at the point guard position. Collison’s value at $6,400 is really too good to pass up. I will be building a lot of my teams around him.
Jarrett Jack/Elfrid Payton ($5,400) – I really like both guys for this price, but I’d probably go Payton over Jack as a contrarian pick. Still, it’s hard to deny that Jack has been on a roll. Both buys are great options.
Shooting Guard
James Harden ($11,500) – Like I said before, it’s Harden’s world and we are all just living in it. He’s been the best daily fantasy basketball player this season in my opinion, and I see no reason why he shouldn’t be in most lineups.
Jamaal Crawford ($5,000) – Outside of Harden, I don’t like to many guys at the position tonight. Crawford is intriguing because he is so cheap. He’s cheap enough to get in some big name guys, but also has a high enough ceiling that he can easily be a top five guy tonight at the position.
Small Forward
Luol Deng ($6,400) – I like Deng more if Bosh is out. Still, he’s dropped over 30 fantasy points in four of his last five games. The matchup is nice enough that I believe he will be solid enough to be worth the price.
Tobias Harris ($7,200) – I like Harris a lot tonight, but there are other guys I’d rather have in my lineup than Harris. If you can fit him in, I’d play him over Deng.
Rodney Hood ($3,600) – Hood is strictly a GPP or value play for me. I’m not comfortable starting him everywhere, but he’ll get an opportunity with Alec Burks still banged up with a bum shoulder.
Power Forward
Derrick Favors ($7,200) – I know I am all over this game tonight, but I really like Favors despite his matchup. He’s my guy if I am not paying up for Griffin.
Kris Humphries ($4,000) – Humphries, like Hood, is a GPP play for me. He’s bottom of the barrel, but has the most upside of the lower tier guys.
Blake Griffin ($11,100) – It’s hard to fade Griffin, even at this price. I’d rather have Harden over Griffin but I’m going to try to fit him in some of my lineups.
Center
Chris Anderson ($4,300) – I won a lot of money playing Anderson last week. Like I said then, I only like him if Chris Bosh is still out. If Bosh is playing, look elsewhere at the position.
Zaza Pachulia ($4,000) – Pachulia has hit 30+ fantasy points in his last two games. Since their aren’t many guys I like at the position, I’m going to take a shot on him to save some cash and pay up for some other guys.
Dwight Howard ($8,900) – I don’t quite understand why Howard is cheaper than the other top-tier guys, but I will gladly take the savings. If I’m not going Harden, I’m definitely playing Howard.
