Daily Fantasy Basketball Playbook – 12/19

DeAndre Jordan

Welcome back to another big night of daily fantasy basketball! Ten games are on the books this evening, so plenty of options out there. Corey Brewer has been traded to the Houston Rockets, so make sure that he isn’t in any of your lineups this evening. Lets get right to the plays of the night. As always, my prices are according to DraftKings. Good luck!

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook ($11,500) – No Durant means it is the Russell Westbrook show. He’s pricy but he is always capable of 50+ fantasy point night when he’s doing it all by himself. Pay up and be happy about it.

Damian Lillard ($8,500) – I like Lillard as a GPP play, which seems crazy to say. He’s the best choice of the mid-tier guys, and someone I would use if I am not paying up for Westbrook.

Zach LaVine ($5,000) – LaVine is the first of many players from this game tonight I like. His price tag is inviting, but I mostly see him as a GPP play.

Shooting guard

Gary Neal ($3,700) – Lance Stephenson has already been ruled out of the game tonight, so Neal should see a ton of minutes. He doesn’t need to do much in order to make him a great value play tonight.

Dwayne Wade ($8,200) – Wade seems to have his knees under him more now that LeBron is gone. He’s coming off a great performance, and the Heat will need to score in bunches to keep up with Washington. Wade is pricy, but he’s worth the gamble.

Small Forward

Gordon Hayward ($7,100) – I like Hayward the most of the mid-tier guys tonight. He’s coming off a great game against the Heat, and I don’t see how anyone can think the Magic can slow him down much more than Miami did.

Evan Turner ($4,600) – I know it’s really up in the air who Boston will rely on with Rondo gone, but I gotta believe Turner will have the ball in his hands a lot and shooting out the gym. He’s a GPP play in my book.

Shabazz Muhammad ($4,500) – I’m all over this game tonight and expect to see more guys in the playbook, but Muhammad will be starting tonight on place of Brewer. If this trade with Brewer happened yesterday, his price is easily $500 more. I like him a lot tonight.

Power Forward

Jared Sullinger ($6,800) – Sully has been in a slump lately, but I really like his matchup tonight against the Timberwolves. His price is higher than I expected, but his ceiling tonight might be too good to pass up.

Amir Johnson ($5,100) – Johnson has been boom or bust, but I fully expect him to boom tonight against a terrible Pistons team. He could easily blow his pricing out of the water if the game goes like I believe it will.

Thad Young ($7,100) – The scoring will need to come from somewhere with Corey Brewer on his way to Houston. Young is coming off of a 40-point fantasy night, and I think they rely heavily on him to put up points.

Thomas Robinson ($3,000) – I’m throwing Robinson on this list because of his increased minutes and playing time. He exploded last game, and he’s worth a shot in GPPs or a punt option tonight.

Center

DeAndre Jordan ($8,200) – DJ has had too big games in a row, and scored 40+ fantasy points in five of his last seven games. He gets a Denver Nuggets team that is without JaVale McGee. I’m starting him with confidence and am expecting him to continue his hot hand.

Mason Plumlee ($6,100) – I’m usually not a big fan of the center position, but I really like both of these guys tonight. Plumlee, Like Jordan, has had a nice stretch of games of great value in DFS. If you want to save money by not going Jordan, than he is definitely the way to go.
