Fantasy Football: Indianapolis Colts are top streaming defense in week 12

The Indianapolis Colts get the golden defensive match-up in week 12 – they face the Jacksonville Jaguars and they are at home. They have a chance to be the top scoring defense this week. Taking a look back to last week, San Diego gave up just 6 points in week 11, posting a couple of sacks and a fumble recovery for a solid 11 points. The Buffalo Bills had a decent week as they had five sacks and two fumble recoveries while giving up 20 points and finished with a 10 point game. Washington was a disappointment as they gave up 21 points to the Buccaneers (their offense didn’t help the cause), registering two sacks and a fumble recovery for a paltry for just four points in Yahoo! standard scoring. My picks are similar again with which teams’ offenses to target, so let’s take a look.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts had 17 points in week three when they played Jacksonville last

Indianapolis Colts (available in 60% of Yahoo! leagues)

Another week, another targeting of the Jaguars offense. The Indianapolis Colts have proven to be more effective on defense this year and the last time these teams played, they crushed. The Indianapolis Colts defense scored 17 points in week three, which had them registering four sacks, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and a touchdown while giving up 17 points. This time the Indianapolis Colts are at home, which can only help their cause. We have seen what Blake Bortles is capable of this year, so I expect much of the same from week three in this game.

San Diego Chargers (available in 65% of Yahoo! leagues)

San Diego had a nice game against a weak offense last week and I’m thinking they will be able to do the same against a weak Rams offense. The St. Louis Rams did have a decent day on offense scoring 22 points against Denver, but they had some assistance from their defense and their kicker. The Rams will be travelling to the west coast against San Diego, which is always nice for a streaming defense. Denver had just 3 sacks on Shaun Hill last week, but I’m confident that San Diego can have a better game – the Rams totalled just 337 yards last week and San Diego held Oakland to only 233 total yards.

Kansas City Chiefs (available in 31% of Yahoo! leagues)

I’m expecting a low scoring Thursday night game between Kansas City and Oakland this week. Oakland’s offense is not as good as Seattle’s (as we saw the weak Chargers defense hold them to just six points last week) and the Chiefs didn’t get blown up by them. They did give up 20 points, but they had a couple of sacks and this game will be on a short week. The three prior weeks before the Seattle game, Kansas City scored 11, 7, and 13 points against Buffalo, the Jets and the Rams who are three weaker offenses. Kansas City’s rush defense will help make Derek Carr throw the ball more often, which hopefully which create some turnovers. He has had at least one turnover in the past three games, including two interceptions in each game in week 9 and 10. I know these guys aren’t widely available, but if they are out there or for some reason get dropped during waivers , scoop them up. National stage for Derek Carr, I expect him to be a little shaky on a short week against a strong defense.

These defenses are owned in my league. How do you feel about GB defense this week, hosted by the Vikings?
