Fantasy Football: Houston Texans Have More To Offer Than J.J. Watt For Your IDP Fantasy Team-Week 8

Brian Cushing returns as a three-down LB in Houston

So you are kicking yourself for not drafting J.J. Watt in your IDP fantasy football league? Or do you think that all is lost because you have more players on IR than you do on your active roster?  Whatever the reason, yes, lambast yourself for not seeing the wonder that is Watt, but do not fret.  The Houston Texans have more to offer.  Heck, there are several teams that are hiding some sneaky sleepers you need to insert in your line-up right now.

Here are five week eight sleepers for your fantasy team:

Kendrick Lewis, Free Safety, Houston Texans: The problem is the Texans are dominated by the big names.  Yes, there is Watt, there is Brian Cushing and there will soon be Jadeveon Clowney.  But as know, it is always the quiet ones you have to watch out for.  Enter Lewis.  For the season he has 46 tackles, with three forced fumbles and one interception.  D.J. Swearinger is getting the penalties, while Lewis is getting the takeaways.

Jerry Hughes, Defensive End, Buffalo Bills: Why are you sleeping on Hughes?  Last week against the Detroit Lions, Hughes was in on 45-of-62 snaps.  He collected five tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.  For the season he has 28 tackles, one forced fumble and 5.5 sacks.  In the world of ever depleting defensive players it is hard to believe you have two players currently on your roster doing better.

Everson Griffen, Defensive End, Minnesota Vikings: Last week against the Bills, Griffen held his own and then some.  He collected his season best seven tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble.  This week the Vikings will meet a hapless Tampa Bay Buccaneers team.

Telvin Smith, Linebacker, Jacksonville Jaguars: Here are the facts: all everything linebacker Paul Posluszny is out for the season; and rookie Smith earned his first start last week.  In that start Smith collected one sack, one forced fumble and one interception.  He will very likely see more playing time now.  With the amount of time the Jaguars defense spends on the field it will give Smith time to rack up more numbers.

Michael Griffin, Safety, Tennessee Titans: Last week against Washington, Griffin collected a whopping 10 tackles and one sack.  For the season he has 50 tackles and an added two interceptions.  These are the kind of numbers you can’t afford to ignore, unless winning isn’t your goal.
