Welcome to the Week Six edition of Fantasy Football: Adam’s Sneaky Starts! Adrian Peterson reached a new level of cluelessness this week admitting and smoking pot before a known drug test. I would highly doubt if Peterson sees a football field for the rest of 2014. Matt Asiata is now an every week flex option for the rest of this year and Jerick McKinnon is an interesting dynasty buy for a potential 2015 shot to start. Finding some under the radar plays this week wasn’t too difficult as there are a good amount of injuries causing fantasy lineup stress in week 6. I feel really good about my “special play” as he is looking like he will be getting the majority of carries in the Jacksonville Jaguar backfield. Opportunity is sometimes everything in fantasy football and these players have plenty of opportunity to produce this week. Missing Calvin Johnson and A.J. Green? Dial up Allen Robinson or Andre Holmes and read why! Let’s get to Week 6’s sneaky starts. My start percentages are based off the Yahoo Fantasy Football game and were accounted for on Wednesday evening.

Andre Holmes- WR- Oakland Raiders (1% Started)

The Oakland Raiders are the most pass heavy team in % of passes per total plays ran because they are constantly trailing in games. They are hosting a stout Chargers defense this week fresh off a shut out of the Jets. Andre Holmes may not do a whole lot in the 1st half, but this game has garbage time production written all over it! Rod Streater is injured and Denarius Moore was a healthy scratch two weeks ago. Fellow wide receiver James Jones may see most of the attention leaving Holmes with favorable coverages. I like the chances of a 25 year old 6-4 wide out to reach the end zone most weeks. He is also coming off a strong Week 4 game where he turned 12 targets into 74 yards and 1 touchdown. I am looking for a repeat performance in Week 6.

Bold Prediction: 5 receptions- 75 yards- 1 touchdown

Allen Robinson- WR- Jacksonville Jaguars (4% Started)

The Jaguars have become a very pass heavy offense as they have no effective running game or running back. Robinson’s target totals the last 4 weeks have looked like this: 6, 10, 7, 11. He has 5 receptions in 3 straight games! He has yet to find the end zone, but that will eventually turn around as early as this week. The Titans are middle of the road against the pass and their secondary can be exploited. The return of Cecil Shorts and Marqise Lee won’t affect Robinson too much as Robinson has been outperforming Allen Hurns. There aren’t many No.1 WR’s with his potential sitting on benches in 12 team leagues.

Bold Prediction: 6 receptions- 86 yards- 1 touchdown

C.J. Anderson- RB- Denver Broncos (1% Started)

Ronnie Hillman is getting all the attention and will see the start, but I see Anderson as the true running back that can benefit from Montee Ball’s injury. The Jets have a physical front 7 and Anderson is the more physical runner. The Jets won’t be able to keep up with Peyton Manning so I expect a lot of 4th quarter clock killing runs. Week 1 he averaged 6.8 YPC on 4 totes and in Week 2 he averaged 6.2 YPC on 5 carries. He was a healthy scratch last week, but reports came out that he was only inactive because he doesn’t play special teams. Montee Ball has already been ruled out and Juwann Thompson is nursing an injury himself.

Bold Prediction: 13 carries- 64 yards- 1 touchdown- 1 reception- 6 yards

Jarius Wright- WR- Minnesota Vikings (1% Started)

Teddy Bridgewater is returning this week and in his only start this year he showed a lot of love to Jarius Wright. They have natural chemistry in games as they had a lot of reps together running with the 2nd unit in the offseason. In Bridgewater’s only start, Wright had 8 receptions for 132 yards on 10 targets versus Atlanta. Wright even had 8 targets last week with Christian Ponder at the helm showing that Norv Turner is looking to keep Wright involved in the game plan. Apparently, Cordarelle Patterson can’t get open and Greg Jennings is an average wide receiver. The Lions have a great defense and are very stout against the run. The Vikings will need their dynamic slot wide receiver to move the ball.

Bold Prediction: 5 receptions- 55 yards- 1 touchdown

Adam’s Secret Undercover Special

Storm Johnson- RB- Jacksonville Jaguars (0% Started)

I’m sure his ownership has gone up since Wednesday as Toby Gerhart has recently been ruled out. Storm saw his 1st action last week and looked solid posting 27 yards on 4 carries. Coach Gus Bradley called his performance, “very impressive.” Gerhart has been struggling this year and Denard Robinson is only built for a complimentary role. The Jaguars are going rookie heavy with Blake Bortles, Allen Robinson, and Allen Hurns, so why not go all out with Storm Johnson? The Titans struggle against the run allowing 136.3 RYPG. If you are dealing with running back injuries and byes, Storm is your guy!

Bold Prediction: 11 carries- 54 yards- 1 touchdown- 1 reception- 4 yards
