Philadelphia Eagles’ Malcolm Jenkins has three interceptions on the year and faces Eli Manning in Week 6. That’s just part of his allure and why he’s a great starter this week as part of the defensive back streaming series. For more on the defensive back streaming strategy read here.

Week 5 Summary:

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, New York Giants, CB (v ATL): 2 tackles, 1 PD

Janoris Jenkins, St Louis, CB (@PHI): 2 tackles, 1 PD

Mike Adams, Indianapolis, S (v BAL): 4 tackles

Kendrick Lewis, Houston, S (@DAL):1 tackle, 2 assists, 1 TFL, 1 FF, 1 INT, 1 PD

Week 6 Streaming Targets: Malcolm Jenkins, Philadelphia, S (v NYG)

Malcolm Jenkins

Jenkins has had a fine start to the season, sitting pretty at 3rd overall for DBs so far this season. In fact, Jenkins has 3 interceptions so far this season, accounting for close to half of his points so far this season. If he’s on waivers, grab him and plug him this season against the Giants who run the ball more than anybody else in the NFL. Throw in Eli Manning’s errant passes and Jenkins’ ball hawk nature and you may even get another pick from the Philly Safety. If Jenkins is owned, then strong safety Nate Allen isn’t a bad runner-up prize. Prediction: 8 tackles (5 solo),  INT chance: 20 percent.

Charles Woodson, Oakland, S (v SD) I had the pleasure of seeing the legendary safety in the flesh a couple of weeks back when the Raiders rolled into Wembley, only to roll over against the ‘Fins. This week the Raiders face the Chargers, who remain dedicated to the run even with undrafted RB Branden Oliver. Woodson has looked even more athletic than in his rookie season this year and does a lot of cleaning up after the LBs in front of him. I can see Woodson getting close to 10 tackles this week no doubt.

Prediction: 9 tackles (6 solo) 1 Pass Defensed, INT chance: 15 percent

Chris Harris, Denver, CB (@NYJ) Geno Smith has 6 picks over his first 5 games, and whilst his attempts aren’t sky high compared to other QBs, his inaccuracy and focus on WR Eric Decker is going to be his downfall against the Broncos. With Decker covered by Aqib Talib on one side, Geno will have to look elsewhere and Chris Harris is going to be feasting on a lot of passes thrown his way. It’s definitely a boom or bust play if you’re choosing a cornerback over a safety but in some leagues the pickup can be worth it.

Prediction: 4 tackles (3 solo), INT Chance: 33 percent

Robert McClain, Falcons, CB (v CHI) Jay Cutler is one of the leading passers in the league in terms of attempts (191), and whilst he has been an effective passer this year, the number of passes thrown leads to opportunities for opposing cornerbacks. Robert McClain hasn’t caught an interception since week one, but his opponents have tended to be run first teams. You can do worse than starting McClain. Yippie Ki Yay!

Prediction: 5 tackles (3 assists), INT Chance: 33 percent
