Fantasy Football: Steelers’ Sean Spence Expectations Featured in Week 4 IDP TwitterBag

Sean Spence is well worth a look as a starter in IDP leagues in Week 4

You guys are asking some great questions and this is quickly becoming a favorite piece of mine. As we get into the bye weeks, managing your squad is becoming even more important. Each week, I’ll take a handful of questions via Twitter. As we head into Week 4, here are this week’s questions featured in the Week 4 IDP TwitterBag:

What do you expect (performance wise) from Sean Spence. It’ll be his first start, but its not a truly great matchup or is IT?

The Bucs are down near the bottom, so far, in points allowed to opposing LBs. They have given up double-digit points to guys like Luke Kuechly, James Laurinaitis, Alec Ogletree and Paul Worrilow. I look for Spence to be on the field for most of the game alongside Lawrence Timmons, and with the way he misses, Spence could gobble up some opportunities. He recorded 4 solos in just 35 snaps, so I see Spence going for at least 5-6 solos and a few assists. Should be LB3 territory.

What kind of dynasty upside does Chris Borland hold?

Well, I thought pre-draft he had the upside to be an IDP contributor right away. That is, until he landed in San Francisco. Right now, he’s a hold but he may be one of those two or three year projects. Patrick Willis, though nursing some injuries, is still under 30 and they have NaVorro Bowman who isn’t going anywhere, and, will get his job once he’s off IR. My concern is that he can’t even get snaps from Michael Wilhoite.

Willis doesn’t become an FA until 2017 and Bowman is under contract until 2019. At this point, hold on to him and hope he gets traded to an LB needy team.

Do you prefer Liuget to Cameron Jordan and/or Cameron Heyward in dynasty setting?

I really like the defense Cameron Jordan is in and he’s still only 25. He’s the guy I like most out of the three.

Bye week snafu in deep dynasty league…Chris Borland needs to start. Any chance he gets snaps?

Yikes. Well, he has yet to see a regular season defensive snap, so I don’t see that changing. Are there any other options on the wire? I mean, you can hope he gets a special teams tackle or two, but I think you might be in trouble this week.

Jaret Payne @ukbsktbll
How would you rank these LBs? Tahir Whitehead, Prince Shembo, Justin Durant or Dane Fletcher? Thanks

For me, it’s all about opportunity. Shembo is still splitting snaps (even though he seems to be getting more) with Joplo Bartu. Here’s how I have them:

1. Durant
2. Whitehead
3. Fletcher

@heyeph
Likelihood of Mychal Kendricks playing?

Kendricks is out this week. Do you have any other options? If you need waiver wire help, we’ve got plenty of articles at FakePigSkin. If those guys are all gone, sneaky play, albeit desperate, would be to play Marcus Smith. He only had 18 snaps, but I have to believe he’d get more this week.

Mike Horsman @mikehorsman
Will we see the old Danny Trevathan right away, will he return to form slowly, or will his situation not be fantasy friendly?

Even with the way Brandon Marshall is playing, I see Danny Trevathan getting back into the lineup. It might take a few tilts to get back to speed, but I think he’ll be fantasy worthy once again.

Thanks again for all of your questions. We’ll do it again next week!
