Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea – MID

Fabregas put on an impressive display in Chelsea’s season opener and his debut with the Blues showing his elite field vision. The midfielder picked up two first half assists, including a brilliant pass to Andre Schurrle to put the visiting side up for good. Also making his debut with the Blues was Diego Costa who picked up his first goal of the season just 17 minutes in, and already looks to be the striker that Chelsea had lacked last season. Thibaut Cortouis got the nod in goal over the incumbent Petr Chech, picking up his first win, conceding only one goal.
