Steven Gerrard, Liverpool – Midfielder

Liverpool knocked off West Ham United 2-1 at The Boleyn Ground in a match that saw a bit of controversy on both ends of the pitch. In Liverpool’s first PL victory this season where neither Luis Suarez or Daniel Sturridge scored, it was Gerrard who knocked two into the back of the net from the penalty spot. “Captain Fantastic” now has a total of 10 goals from the spot, putting him one behind the record for a single season(Andrew Johnson, 11, 2004-05).  Liverpool will host Manchester City at Anfield next week in a match with heavy Championship implications.
