Daily Fantasy Basketball Notes 3/24

Wow, what a whirlwind weekend. 50 hours of watching March Madness, plus baseball drafts had my mind feeling like mush. A refreshing 6 hours of sleep has me ready to go again and with the Madness taking a backseat for a few days, it’s time to get back to the task at hand…NBA DFS !! Seasonal leagues should be entering their final weeks and NBA teams prepare for the playoffs (or tanking for the lottery).

We find a pretty busy Monday night in the Association, with 10 games on the schedule. Injuries and rest play a headline tonight. Will Russell Westbrook sit tonight ? Will Dwight Howard be back in action for the Rockets ? Will Dwayne Wade suit up ? Be sure to follow @Fakeroundball for the latest news.

On to some player selections:  (my player salary’s come from DraftStreet ( DS))

TOP OF THE LINE:

Anthony Davis, NO ($23,152)- I’m not an advocate of using 23% of your cap on one player, but the way The Brow has been going lately, why not?  Since starting March with two very lackluster performances, these are Davis’s DS totals his last eight times out : 47.75, 53.5, 61.75, 51, 46.75, 73,75, 45.25, 45.75 .  Tonight’s opponent is Brooklyn, who are coming off an OT game last night which saw Samuel Dalembert put up 12 points, 17 boards and 7 blocks.

LeBron James, MIA ($21,716)- With D-Wade doubtful for tonight, all systems are becoming a go for King James.  In three March games where Wade has sat, LeBron has averaged 43 points, 7 boards and 6 assists, good for close to 58 DS points per.

MIDDLE OF THE ROAD:

Mike Conley, MEM ($13,955)- Going against Minnesota tonight, and as well as Ricky Rubio has played lately, his defense his still lacking.  Minnesota is 28th in the league against PG’s the last 15 days, and Conley has been playing at a pretty good level lately, averaging 16 PPG, 5.4 APD and 4.6 RPG over his last five.

Trey Burke, UTH ($10,286)- His price tag just misses him being a “cheapskate” but Burke looks like decent value tonight.  He’s averaged 16.7 points and almost 5 assists over his last seven games, gets a Detroit Piston team second to last vs. opposing PG the last two weeks, and Alec Burks is out tonight. All aligns nicely for Trey tonight.

CHEAPSKATES:

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL ($7,544)- The season ending injury to Nate Wolters should hopefully open up a little more playing time for the “Greek Freak” the rest of the way.  The multi-dimensional Alphabet Man could be of use tonight in a game where they are a underdog (although that can be said in lots of Bucks games).  Come on Larry Drew, Let the Freak play !!!!

Shelvin Mack, ATL ($6,533)- Only an option if Kyle Korver doesn’t suit up.  If Korver doesn’t go, should expect another start for Mack.  The price is cheap for someone who can see 30 minutes tonight.

James Anderson, PHI ($7,014)- Anderson’s price had generally been higher than this before he got hurt and missed a few games.  With Tony Wroten out, Anderson should be in line for 35 or so minutes.  Philly could get blown out big time in San Antonio tonight, but that shouldn’t be of much concern to Anderson.

Darrell Arthur, DEN ($7,379)- The JJ Hickson opens the door a bit for Arthur to gain some more PT.  He has scored in double digits in three straight games, while logging 25+ minutes the last two times out.

Any comments or questions, give a follow to the @fakeroundball crew: myself (@bsteinhause), @SaidHeHadAStory, @PatsFever24 and @RSandersRX.

Good luck tonight!
