Daily Fantasy Basketball Notes 2/20

It’s your usual light NBA Thursday night schedule, as there are three games on tap this evening.. All three have point spreads of lower than 5, with totals no lower than 204.5, so you can expect some close, high scoring games. The marquee matchup comes from OKC as the Heat and Thunder will do battle in the return of Russell Westbrook. The big question posing DFS’ers tonight is LBJ or KD ?? They are priced pretty closely across the industry.  The value plays on DraftStreet seem pretty few and far between so you’ll have to play around to get either one into your lineup.

Here are some other selections:

Brandon Knight, MIL ($13,675)- Knight is quietly having a nice February.  In five contests, he is averaging over 20 PPG and 6.5 APG.  He’s also playing close to 39 minutes per in those games.  Denver, tonight’s opponent, has been pretty brutal against PG’s lately, allowing 43.5 to Goran Dragic, 41.75 to Ricky Rubio, and 50.75 to Brandon Jennings in three of their last four.  Knight is nursing a heel injury so double check to make sure he is playing (I haven’t seen anything saying he won’t).

James Harden, HOU ($18,112)- If the 23K+ price of Durant and LeBron are a little too rich for your blood, then Harden can be an option.  Harden went into the break with a 46.5 DS game, and came out of it with 57 last night vs the Lakers.  Houston is the highest team total on the board tonight.  Look for Harden to continue his uptrend.

David Lee, GS ($15,805)- There are few certainties out there in the world.  One, however, may be a double double from D-Lee.  He has posted three straight of them since returning from a shoulder injury.  Tonight, he gets a Rocket defense near the bottom (27/30) in letting up fantasy points to PF.  Lock

Nate Wolters, MIL ($12,717)- A second Buck ?  Both halves of the Milwaukee back court ? Have I lost my mind ??  Perhaps…but Wolters seems to have earned the trust of the madman, Larry Drew, lately.  He has played 37 MPG his last four, and has filled up the stat sheet to the tune of 13.75 points, 6.5 boards, 5.25 assists and 1.5 steals per game in those games.

And a couple cheaper options on a shallow night:

Evan Fournier, DEN ($9.944)- With Ty Lawson on the shelf and Jordan Hamilton traded away, the opportunity should be there tonight for the Frenchman.  We don’t know if Coach Shaw will give him the start, but one would expect Fournier to replicate the 33 minutes he has seen his last two games.  He comes off a career high 25 points Tuesday night vs. Phoenix.

Caron Butler, MIL ($8.775)- Now I know I have lost my mind, not one, not two, but three Bucks in the column.  There just doesn’t seem to be many options below the $9000 mark.  Coming off an ankle injury Butler scored 21 points (all on seven 3’s) and grabbed 7 boards in 29 minutes of action.  He didn’t practice yesterday and Larry Drew likes to yo yo minutes anyway, so consider Butler for GPP’s, not double ups.
