Daily Fantasy Basketball 2/8

A Saturday night with 7 NBA games on the schedule is upon us. There are several contests with pretty high totals, the greatest of which is the Nugget / Piston tilt with a 215.5 O/U. The Blazer / T’Wolves game in Minnesota also has a high total of 211 with just a 1 point spread.

On to some player selections: (Note- my salaries are from Draft Street)

The high priced studs:

Kevin Love, MIN ($22,968)- Love is the highest priced option on the board tonight, and with good reason.  His last 5 games he is right at the 50 DS PPG plateau.  As mentioned in the opening tonight is expected to be a close, high scoring affair, where Love can certainly pull off one of his monster lines.

Andre Drummond, DET ($17,637)- Coming off a monstrous 16 point, 22 rebound performance last night, Drummond gets to feast on a Denver front line surrendering the second to most fantasy PPG to center the last two weeks.  Feast on.

Ty Lawson, DEN ($15,845)- Lawson has averaged 23 points, 8 assists and almost 5 boards a game in three contests since returning from a shoulder injury.  The high scoring fast paced game expected in Detroit shouldn’t slow that down at all.

Damian Lillard, POR ($13,947)- After really struggling the second half of January, Lillard seems to have turned it around, culminating with a 38 point, 11 assist game last night.  Tonight he gets the worst team against PG the last few weeks in Minnesota.

Josh Smith, DET ($13,971)- One more option from the Denver/Detroit game.  Smith is up to his stat sheet stuffing ways in February so far, with averages of 17.3 points, 8.8 boards, 5.8 assists, 2,3 steals and 1.5 blocks per in four February contests.

Cheapskates: Lower priced guys to help fill out your roster

Khris Middleton, MIL ($9,842)- Any time you select a Buck it’s a bit worrisome with the odd ways of Coach Drew.  But Middleton seems to be a favorite of Drew, and with Ersan Ilyasova dealing with back issues, Middleton should continue to see big minutes (he played 44 Wednesday in Denver)

Nick Calathes ($8,672) and Courtney Lee ($8.726), MEM- Both starting Memphis guards get lumped together, as their prices are almost identical.  Calathes has been steady filling in for Mike Conley, going for 32.25, 20.75 and 26.75  DS points in three starts.  Lee is a bit inconsistent, but is coming off a 34.75 effort Wednesday night.  Either, or both could be solid choices tonight.

Draymond Green, GS ($7,179)- Both David Lee and Andrew Bogut are sitting out again tonight ( At least we know about it well ahead of time this time).  Green draws the start tonight in what should be a pretty decent scoring game in Phoenix.  The ability to contribute across the board adds to Green’s appeal tonight.

Kyle Singler, DET ($7,919)-  Have I mentioned I like players in the DET/DEN game tonight ??  Singler is starting now, having played 30+ minutes in 4 straight games, hitting double figures in scoring in three of those.
