Here are 35 things you need to know. Some stats were compiled using ProFootballFocus’ premium stats.

 

  1. Gio Bernard had 14 touches in week 3 to BenJarvus Green-Ellis’ 10.
  2. Bernard’s snaps have gone from 37% to 26% to 54% in order. Things are trending upwards.
  3. San Diego averages 358 yards and 2 touchdowns given up a game to opposing quarterbacks. Now Dallas comes to town.
  4. Washington averages 356 yards and 2.7 touchdowns given up a game to opposing quarterbacks. Week 4 is against Oakland. Yes, the Raiders.
  5. Miami has given up a touchdown to the opposing tight end every week.
  6. Cecil Shorts is the most targeted wide receiver in the NFL at 39.
  7. Ben Tate is averaging 4.96 yards after contact. By far the top running back.
  8. Fred Jackson is second at 3.50 yards after contact.
  9. LeSean McCoy has registered 6 runs of 15 yards or more.
  10. Philip Rivers is the 5th highest scoring quarterback.
  11. Jake Locker has thrown 0 interceptions.
  12. Colin Kaepernick makes me cry. He will turn it around.
  13. San Francisco, Detroit, and Denver have given up 6 touchdowns to opposing running backs, each.
  14. Buffalo, San Diego, Tampa Bay, Arizona, and Baltimore have failed to give up a touchdown to opposing running backs.
